Economic Development Commission Minutes <br /> March 16, 2010 <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br /> 5. Comprehensive Plan Update Regarding Economic Development <br /> Dawn Bittner stated that the economic development section of the Comprehensive Plan <br /> has been in the process of being reviewed and rewritten. She stated that the Planning <br /> Commission received a lot of participation from the community. There will be further <br /> discussion on the economic development section on Thursday, March 18th. <br /> 6. Next Meeting Date <br /> The next Economic Development Commission meeting is scheduled for April 20, 2010. <br /> Agenda items will include: <br /> • Comprehensive Plan update <br /> • Review of Business Subsidy Policy <br /> • Update on MN Housing Institute <br /> 7. Other Business <br /> Ruth Ann Hanson gave an update on past and upcoming Chamber events including the <br /> Business Tour scheduled for May and the Empty Spaces Tour that took place in March. <br /> She also updated the Commission on the Business Connect Group meetings and noted <br /> that the group is in the process of defining its purpose and goals. <br /> The Clerk presented a request from YAR, Youth as Resources,to mark a place on map <br /> for City Hall at $60.00. It was recommended by the EDC that the City participate with <br /> the funding to come from the City budget if it is not too late to do so. <br /> The EDC discussed the issue of updating the business subsidy policy. The EDC felt that <br /> this should also be part of comprehensive plan and questioned how to integrate the policy <br /> into the comprehensive plan. It was suggested that the Planning Commission be informed <br /> of this issue. <br /> 8.
