Insurance Aqent of Record COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO CONTINUE SERVICES WITH LAKELAND INSURANCE AS THE CITY'S INSURANCE AGENT OF RECORD FOR 2011. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 11.7. Business Subsidv Plan Review The Clerk noted that during the past several months the EDC has been working toward amending the City's existing Business Subsidy Policy. The proposed policy has been reviewed by the EDC, the Planning Commission, BLADC, Springsted, and Briggs and Morgan. --� She stated that the City must hold a public hearing prior to adopting the policy. This draft is being presented to the Council for review prior to calling for a public hearing to adopt the policy. --� The Clerk explained that in the proposed policy the JOBZ and the business subsidy policies have been separated. She further noted that the subsidy amounts that would apply to the policies have been increased to $150,000 which is dictated by statute. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO CALL A PUBLIC HEARING ON FEBRUARY 1, 2011, AT 6 P.M. TO HEAR COMMENTS ON THE BUSINESS SUBSIDY POLICY. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA SECONDED THE MOTION. Council Member Ryan stated that he would like to see a provision in the policy that requires all business development agreements to be reviewed by the Council. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 11.8. Ordinance Amendments Relatinq to Doqs The Clerk requested to table this item until the Attorney can review the administrative fine penalties and incorporate them into the ordinance. Council Member Ryan questioned the need for the ordinance. He � suggested that the license be valid for three years rather than one year.
