C. Performs scheduled maintenance and records in appropriate logs. <br />�- D. Performs and supervises in the installation of service connections for city <br />sanitary sewer and municipal water. <br />E. Follows all of the City's adopted safety programs and policies. <br />F. Reads, installs and maintains water meters. <br />G. Establishes maintenance contracts for City's wells, pumps and other <br />� <br />related equipment. <br />H. Maintains the grounds and buildings of the water treatment plant, <br />wastewater facility and lift stations. <br />I. Assists in operations of the Maintenance Department as needed. <br />3. Performs personnel activities. <br />A. Assigns tasks and area of work responsibility. <br />B. Assists and initiates in employee hiring activities for department including <br />interviewing applicants. <br />4. Performs public relations and communications activities. <br />A. Receives and responds to inquiries and complaints from the public. <br />B. Deals with the public in a professional manner. <br />C. Explains City and department operation standards, laws and regulations. <br />Required Knowled�e, Skills, and Abilities: <br />• Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques related to the maintenance and <br />operation of the City's sanitary sewer systems and municipal City wells. <br />• Ability to communicate effectively with City employees, City ofiicials, regulatory <br />agencies and the general public. <br />• Ability to supervise employees and delegate work. <br />• Knowledge of Federal and State laws, municipal ordinances and regulatory <br />agency requirements for sewer and water systems. <br />• Ability to operate sewer jetting machine, various testing equipment and other <br />related equipment. <br />• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and to determine solutions to a <br />variety of operation and maintenance problems. <br />• Ability to prepare reports and maintain records. <br />• Knowledge of the operation of a Class D sanitary sewer system and Class C <br />municipal water system. <br />Minimum Qualifications: <br />High school education or equivalent. <br />Current Class C Municipal water license. <br />Current Class D Wastewater license. <br />� Page 2 <br />C:�Documents and Settings\speine�L,ocal Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLKF7\Water-Wastewater Manager <br />Revised Job Description.doc <br />
