� <br />City Council Minutes <br />October 1, 2013 <br />Page 4 of 6 <br />the consensus of the Council to take no action at this time and to possibly <br />review the issue again in a few months. <br />6.2. Planninq Commission Appointment <br />The Mayor noted that Scott Snyder has submitted his resignation to the <br />Planning Commission. Staff has advertised for his replacement. She <br />stated that an application was received from Todd Engels and there is an <br />application on file for John Derksen. Mayor Adams recommended that <br />Todd Engels be appointed. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ACCEPT SCOTT <br />SNYDERS RESIGNATION FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO APPOINT TODD ENGELS TO THE <br />PLANNING COMMISSION WITH HIS TERM ENDING ON 12/31/2014. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br />� <br />6.3. After the Fact Permit Fee <br />Dawn Bittner explained that Jon and Teri Kukachka have constructed a <br />shed and a fence without a permit. They have been charged an after-the- <br />fact permit fee of 5 times the $100 base of $500. The Kukachka's have <br />submitted a letter requesting to reduce the fee. The Council discussed the <br />appeal letter from the Kukachka's and noted that they were sincere in their <br />apology. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO REDUCE THE FEE TO <br />$300. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />6.4. Permit Fee Comqarison <br />Dawn Bittner presented a comparison table of permit fees from <br />surrounding area cities. She noted that the City's land use fees appear to <br />be in line with or lower than surrounding communities. <br />7. Fire <br />Fire report received by Council. <br />8. Police <br />� <br />
