City Clerk/Treasurer — Job Points and Pav Structure Step <br />Mayor Adams informed the Council that the Job Evaluation <br />Committee has recommended that the Council increase the job <br />points for the Clerk/Treasurer from 379 to 423. She explained that <br />the points are derived from using 50% of the Clerk/Treasurer State <br />Job Category classification and one half of 50% of the <br />Administrator State Job Category classification. She also explained <br />that the Committee has recommended a step increase from Step <br />7.5 to Step 9 effective August 5th. She noted that these <br />recommendations are based on the job duties expected of the City <br />Clerk/Treasurer position. The Mayor stated that although the Clerk <br />is a member of the Job Evaluation Committee, she abstained <br />throughout the discussion on this issue. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO INCREASE THE <br />JOB POINTS OF THE CITY CLERK/TREASURER POSITION TO <br />423 AND THAT THE CITY CLERK/TREASURER MOVE FROM <br />STEP 7.5 TO STEP 9 ON THE PAY SCALE EFFECTIVE <br />AUGUST 5T". COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />10.2. Consider Proqerty Purchase <br />Council Member Sjoblad reported that the Buschmann property is listed at <br />$30,000. The Council discussed the pros and cons of purchasing the <br />property. <br />The Council discussed using the property for parking and possibly a <br />restroom. The Council also discussed the option of selling the property in <br />the future for commercial development. Council Member Sjoblad stated <br />that the house is condemned and must come down. It was also noted that <br />the property would have to be checked for possible environmental issues. <br />The Clerk noted that the Planning Commission would have to consider the <br />acquisition and determine whether it will comply with the City's <br />comprehensive plan. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to have the Planning Commission <br />review the proposed purchase and report back to the Council indicating <br />whether the acquisition would comply with the City's comprehensive plan. <br />It was also the consensus of the Council to contact WSN to see what it <br />would cost to check for possible environmental hazards on the property. <br />� <br />10.3.
