Police City of Pequot City Hall
218-568-8111 Lakes 218-568-5222
Fax 218-568-5647 Fax 218-568-5860
.plpd @pequotlakes-mn.gov = 4638 County Road 11 cityhall @pequotlakes-mn.gov
Pequot Lakes,MN 56472
www.pequotlakes-mn.gov
October 21, 2005
Ms. Mary Pfeiffer
P. O. Box 367
Pequot Lakes, MN 56472
RE: Rezone Request to Agriculture, Parcel No. 290141200000009
Dear Ms. Pfeiffer:
Please be advised that on October 4, 2005, the City Council approved your
rezone request based on the following findings of fact:
1. The rezoning to Agriculture is consistent with the City's Comprehensive
Plan and Future Land Use Map, which designates this property for
agricultural use.
2. The parcel is bordered on the north by property zoned Recreational and
on south it is bordered by property zoned Forest Management.
3. The parcel is bordered on the east by a property the City has proposed to
be rezoned Agriculture; the owner of this property has opted out of the
City-wide rezoning and will have a hearing in the future.
4. The parcel is bordered on the west by a property the City has proposed to
be rezoned Transition Residential; Pfeifer is also the owner of this
property is requesting that this property be rezoned to Agriculture.
5. The Agriculture zone is compatible with the Transition Residential, Forest
Management, and Recreational zones.
6. The property was zoned Agricultural under the previous ordinance, which
had a minimum lot area of 20 acres and a minimum lot width of 500 feet.
Rezoning to Agriculture would not change the minimum lot area or width.
7. The parcel area of 43 acres meets the minimum lot area of 20 acres for
the Agriculture zone.
8. The parcel lot width of over 1,350 feet meets the minimum lot width of 500
feet for the Agriculture zone.
