6. The Forest Management zone can be established adjacent to Agriculture, Rural
Residential,Transition Residential, Commercial, and Light Industrial zones. Rezoning to
Forest Management would not be compatible with the Downtown Mixed Use zone just to
the west.
7. The property was zoned Rural Residential under the previous ordinance, which had a
minimum lot area of 5 acres and a minimum lot width of 200 feet. Rezoning to
Transition Residential would not change the minimum lot area or width.
8. The parcel area of 6 acres meets the minimum lot area of 5 acres for the Transition
Residential zone.
9. The parcel lot width of 271 feet meets the minimum lot width of 200 feet for the
Transition Residential zone.
Planning Commission Direction: The Planning Commission can recommend that the City
Council approve,deny,or table this rezoning.
Staff Recommendation: Based on the findings of fact presented in this report, the Staff
recommends that the property be rezoned to Transition Residential. Transition Residential
zoning is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan, is compatible with surrounding zones, and
meets the purpose and intent of the district.
City of Pequot Lakes Staff Report 9-3
September 15,2005
