WILDERNESS RESORT SEWAGE TREATMENT:
Mr. Marohn explained that developer would like to proceed with 12 units and use
existing ISTS. The CUP and Preliminary Plat needs the entire ISTS Design. 10,000
gallons per day requires an SDS. They need to add 2 trenches to use existing ISTS. To
build these 12 units does not trigger the SDS,but the entire project does. They are doing
the project in phases.
The Planning Commission stated that it seems as though the developer is cutting corners.
This is not what we asked for in the CUP. They need to do the SDS in conjunction with
the stormwater permit. The Planning Commission stated that if the developer can get a
waiver from the MPCA, we will permit this in phases.
Staff was directed to check plan submittal deadlines in the Preliminary Plat. Staff was
also directed to check dirtmoving at the resort and to obtain a written update on their
progress.
A motion was made by Dean Williams, seconded by John Derksen, directing Staff not to
issue any permits concerning this project without applicant going through approval
process, being reviewed by Planning Commission and receive a written update. All
members voted"aye". Motion Carried.
(Old Business Continued)
PORTABLE SIGNS:
The letter from the Retail Committee was discussed. Mr. Marohn was asked to draft a
response to the Retail Committee for Mr. Woog to sign.
MINUTES:
A motion was made by Tom Adams, seconded by Bill Habein, to approve the June
Minutes as read. All members voted"aye". Motion Carried.
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT.
Bittner pointed out the 12 permits issued and 33 letters written in June. The letter to
Brian Larsen listed the incorrect name of the Church. It should have been the Baptist
Church.
Potential Violations/Enforcement Actions:
1. Dwight: Location was discussed.
2. Kroells: Mr. Marohn has spoken to her.
3. Whitty: No response from their attorney.
4. Lake: Staff directed to check sod and tree planting.
Planning Commission 10
July 21, 2005
