STAFF REPORT
Application: Rezoning from Rural Residential to Transition Residential
Parcel# 290142300M00009—Suzanne Motyka
Applicant: City of Pequot Lakes
Background Information: The subject property is located just to the south of downtown and is
roughly 21,000 square feet in size. The property is bordered on the west by Old Highway 371.
The property was previously zoned Rural Residential and the proposed zoning for the property is
Transition Residential, under the new Ordinance. The property owner is requesting that the
parcel be rezoned to Downtown Mixed Use. The property owner has indicated to Staff that the
reason for the request is to have a smaller rear setback so that the existing house and a potential
future deck would not encroach on the setback. The subject property has City sewer and water
services.
a
w
Mews eA.D lMiyRe3ie
Old:Medvn De+ety Readedid
6,
11 r To artid xP..esmiatW '..
gqy Old Pisa Res d."
Ree It
Nft_/
r
_ _ 111 s Ladlion P.eaidadii
p
New Dowtow Mu6LSe Old Para)Residle"
012 MedlM Dwaty ReddeneY
iL
The highlighted property shows the location of the Motyka property. The Kimbler
property is the eastern half of this property, while Ms.Motyka owns the western
half. Our digital parcel data does not reflect this lot split yet.
Applicable Statutes: Section 5.1, Subdivision 7 outlines the criteria that should be considered
when amending the official zoning map or establishing a zoning classification:
A.
